To create a ball you will need the following set of materials:
- White threads (100% cotton).
- Hook number 1-2.
- PVA glue or thick sugar syrup.
- Balloon (small) and pump.
- 1 cm wide ribbon made of white organza.
- Satin ribbons are white and pink, their width is 5 cm.
- Thin white ribbon (0.5 cm wide) with gold or silver stitching.
- Hot glue.
- Straz for the middle of the flower.
- Lighter.
At the first stage, it is necessary to connect the ball, which consists of two identical hemispheres, and then stitched. We knit the first half of the ball according to the following pattern:
The first 9 air loops (voz.p.) are connected in a ring.
In the second row of air loops we make arches (3-4 loops), we catch them for every second loop of the first row.
Then in the third row we knit three double crochets in each arch. The next row consists of arches of 5 air loops.
In each semicircle, knit 7 columns with a double cap loop, knit 3 air loops between the fragments.
The next row consists of arches that form air loops. Arches are also tied over fragments of columns from the previous row and over the gaps.
Next, again knit a row of double crochet posts that “sprout” from the arches. Since the number of loops with each row increases, a circle is formed.
Tie the pattern again with lace elements from simple air loops.
In the next row, skip a few openwork when knitting arches to raise the edge of the semicircle.
The second half is knitted according to the first figure, all the loops should coincide and a similar part will turn out.
In the next step, tie together two hemispheres. At the same time, you can use the binding of 3 air units. and cling first to the right edge, and the next knitted loops are fixed to the extreme row on the left.
You get such a shapeless thing that looks a little like a ball.
When the ball is connected, we prepare a solution, thanks to which the knitted ball "hardens" in a round state. The solution can be of several types - for example, 30 ml of PVA glue can be dissolved in a half glass of warm water. Another way is to cook thick sugar syrup, but at the same time it is necessary to stir it often so that it does not burn and does not take a brown appearance. Immerse the entire ball in a warm solution for 1-2 minutes, so that the threads are thoroughly soaked.
Next, take out the product, put it on a towel and, inside the sphere, inflate the balloon to the required size.
Tie a ball and put the work to dry.
When the product is thoroughly dried, it takes a rounded shape, then the balloon must be burst and carefully removed from the knitted ball.
Decorate the “equator” of the product with a thin transparent ribbon. You need to thread it either under the thread, then over the thread.
The next step is to make a satin flower using the kanzashi technique. Cut the ribbon into square blanks exactly 5 cm in size.
Bend each element several times as in the photo:
Scorch the bottom of the product with a lighter, then unscrew the petal and drip hot glue into the “pocket” formed at the back, immediately squeeze the work.
On a small circle of satin, first attach 6 petals of pink color.
The second layer of the flower is formed of 6 white petals, but so that all the corners of the elements converge inside at one point, and the petals themselves are located between the elements of the lower tier. It remains to decorate the flower with thin whorls of white ribbon, and paste a rhinestone in the middle of the product.
Use hot glue to fix the flower on the side of the ball.
At the last stage, a rope is glued to the ball, by which the product can be hung on spruce branches. To fasten the braid firmly - skip it under one of the knitted rows.
