Worldwide, waste management is very acute. The Vietnamese, for example, went the right way - they began to use old tires from trucks again, but in the form of baskets and buckets for household needs.
A tread layer is removed from an old worn automobile tire and all parts containing steel wire are cut off.
Next, the inner part of this tire is exposed. Unlike external, it does not contain as many additives for rubber strength as in the cord part and in the tread part. That is why the inside is so elastic.
The main stages of work
Thoroughly rinsing the rubber from dirt, you need to set the shape of the future basket. Having bent the workpiece to the state of the cylinder, we fasten it with temporary brackets.
We cut out from a wide piece of elastic part a circle with a diameter equal to the diameter of the inner part of our cylinder. Also fix it on the staples.
Next, proceed to the final assembly of the basket. We drill holes at the seams of our temporary joints and flash everything with threads.
For ease of transfer, we attach handles opposite each other along the upper edges of the cylinder. We fix with brackets and drill holes. Using rivets and washers, we rivet our handle fasteners.
In the same way, only with a smaller strip, you can make a lid for our basket. For details on how baskets and buckets are made from old car tires, see the video on the website.
