If there is an old non-working chainsaw that cannot be repaired or there is simply no reason to restore it, then you can "cross" it with a grinder. Well, more precisely, not even her, but only the gear from the flywheel and the tire from her.
First of all, it will be necessary to weld the gear from the old chainsaw to the clamping nut from the grinder, which will be used as an electric drive.
Then it will be necessary to cut a piece of metal strip suitable in length, drill holes in it along the edge, and then bend the letter "P". This will be the mount for the grinder. Then another segment of the metal strip will need to be welded to it.
The main stages of work
The next step is to cut off two pieces of the building corner. In one, you need to make holes so that you can fasten it to the tire of the chainsaw. And the second corner is welded to the mount. Then the corners are welded together.
Next, it will be necessary to clean the welds, after which you can proceed to the final assembly of the home-made chain saw. First, a mount is put on the grinder, and then the tire is also attached.
