During car maintenance in the garage, as well as when disassembling engines, one often has to disassemble the ball bearings, pulleys, gears and other elements that are tightened on the shaft.
With the help of a large homemade puller, pulleys or bearings can be carefully dismantled without damaging them. This device is driven by manual force, like other mechanical pullers.
However, unlike the classic models of bearing pullers, this home-made device has a “shock” handle. To make captures, you need 2 plates, the edges of which must be cut at an angle of 45 degrees.
The main stages of work
Then, for the convenience of further processing, it is necessary to connect both plates to the tack, and use the angle grinder to cut two slots: one large, the second smaller.
In the next step, it will be necessary to weld the plates to two metal bushings that are worn on a threaded rod. Moreover, it is necessary to weld so that both parts are as parallel as possible to each other.
Then, two more bushings mounted on a hairpin, but already smaller, will need to be welded to the plates. Next, the master cuts tack between the plates using angle grinder. Welds must be cleaned. At the last stage, a handle is made, and the master proceeds to assemble the device.
