Original handmade gifts are valued more than regular souvenirs. If you want to surprise a loved one, then take this simple idea into account.
To make a piggy bank, you will need a piece of board (you can use oak, pine or hornbeam), as well as a piece of plexiglass a few millimeters thick. Cloves with a wide hat will also be needed.
First of all, you need to take a piece of the board that is suitable in size and use a compass to mark a circle with a diameter of 15 mm. But the diameter of the inside of the piggy bank can be made larger or smaller if necessary.
The main stages of work
Then you will need to draw legs, tail, ears and a nickle. Then the author cuts the pig out of the board using an electric jigsaw. At the next stage, the obtained blank must be processed. The drum grinder will do the job perfectly.
To give the piggy bank a more accurate look, you need to chamfer and round the edges. You will also need to make a slot for coins in the upper part of the structure. The author used the cutter, but you can use other tools that are at hand.
At the last stage of the work, it remains only to cut two circles from plexiglass and "sheathe" a piggy bank on both sides. The master uses decorative studs with a wide hat as fasteners.
