From an old mechanical hand drill, you can make a homemade device that is useful in the household, as well as in car repairs (for example, you can tighten the nuts on wheels). With this homemade product you can increase the torque by about seven times.

As a drive, you can use a conventional power drill or screwdriver. The first step is to unscrew the thrust part and remove the handle.

After that, you need to unscrew the side covers of the body of the mechanical hand drill. As a result, we will see the "insides" of the drill - the gear mechanism. After that, you can proceed directly to the manufacture of the device itself.

The main stages of work

First you need to knock the cotter pin off the small gear. Then we remove the gear from the shaft itself, using the means at hand. Next, it will be necessary to bore the conical tip of the shaft to 10 mm. This can be done on the emery machine.

In the next step, insert the shaft back into the body of the hand drill, put on the gear, and then insert the cotter pin in its place. The threaded shaft, which is located on the right side of the housing, will need to be cut off by a grinder.

Then we screw the handle from the grinder into the hole in the housing. Cut the threaded part of the shaft of the large gear. At the last stage of work, lubricate the gears, if necessary, and fasten the side covers.
