Using this home-made fixture, it is convenient to connect various parts for their subsequent welding. By the principle of operation, this homemade product resembles a magnetic corner, but differs from it in greater universality.
Using this simple fixture, it is possible to weld blanks from sheet metal, profile and round pipes at an angle of 90 degrees in both longitudinal and transverse sections. For the manufacture of this device, a profile pipe and magnets with a central hole of 4 mm diameter will be required.
The main stages of work
First of all, it is necessary to cut a small piece of 8 cm long from a profile pipe with side dimensions of 30x20 mm. To do this, you can use both a hand hacksaw for metal and a power tool (angle grinder, band saw, circular).
In the section of the profile, we drill two through holes with a drill with a diameter of 6 mm. Next, from the profile pipe 40x25 mm, two small pieces of 2 cm long must be cut. In the resulting blanks, it will be necessary to drill one hole each, stepping back from the edge of 10 mm.
We cut off one wall on the grinder with each grinder to get two U-shaped parts with holes. In the remaining wall, one hole must be drilled to install neodymium magnets.
As an alternative, you can also use samarium-cobalt magnets, which are more heat resistant (Curie point about +800 degrees), and are not inferior in strength to neodymium.
