When performing welding work, it is often required to quickly and accurately fix two workpieces to each other. In order not to bother with clamps and clamps every time, you can make a simple fixture for fixing parts. To do this, you will need two round bars, a spring and two washers.
Using this tool, you can clamp the workpiece (steel corners, plates, strips, profile pipes, etc.) in the horizontal and vertical plane. To make this useful homemade product, you will need a grinder with a cutting and flap wheel, as well as a welding machine.
The main stages of work
First of all, from a steel bar with a diameter of 6-8 mm, cut two pieces of equal length, the edges of which on one side are sharpened under a cone. Then these blanks need to be bent in a vice or using a bending machine at an angle of 90 degrees.
Along the edges of the rods, one medium-sized washer must be welded. Next, connect the two workpieces with a bolt and nut.
At the next stage of work, short sections of the bar should be welded to the steel rods, on which the spring is then put on. Please note that the spring must be stiff enough.
