To carry sheet materials manually (especially alone) is very inconvenient, and unsafe - you can easily pull the spinal muscles or get another injury. Therefore, for these purposes, it is preferable to use a home-made device, which is easy to make with your own hands.
Using a wooden trolley on wheels, you can transport one or several sheets of drywall, particleboard, plywood or other materials without much effort. You can also transport doors or window frames alone without problems.
Design features
The cart for transportation of sheet building materials is a fairly simple design. It consists of a lower wooden beam - two small wheels are screwed onto it (in this case, the wheels from the trolley, which is used in supermarkets to transport products) are suitable.
A platform for sheet building materials is perpendicularly mounted on top of the beam, while the width of the platform can be different. There is also a top stop, which is located vertically and made of an inch board - it is designed so that the sheet of plywood, drywall or chipboard does not fall to the left or right during transportation.
The vertical emphasis is additionally strengthened by two jibs, which are also made of an edged inch board. The fastening of the vertical strut to the beam, as well as jibs is provided due to furniture corners and two steel plates. The cart turned out to be quite light and maneuverable.
