Various decorations made of wood and epoxy look very unusual in the interior of the house and apartment. Such decorative "hand" accessories attract attention and add bright colors. And you can make them from improvised materials. For example, from a mouthguard and epoxy resin with the addition of a phosphor (photoluminescent pigment) you will get a very beautiful egg.

All the basic stages of work, from processing the workpiece to grinding and lining, can even be performed by a beginner in the carpentry business. First you need to give the burl a suitable shape on the lathe, then the workpiece is carefully sanded, epoxy resin with dyes is added. For a better visual effect, a wooden egg can be coated with colorless varnish.

The process of making a capa souvenir

First, we mark the center on the workpiece and process it on a lathe, giving the desired shape - egg-shaped. During turning, cracks and pores form on the surface of the burl, which can be sealed with epoxy. To do this, mix the resin with the hardener, and then add the dye phosphor to it.

With the resulting composition, fill in all the cracks and pores in the wooden egg. After complete drying of the epoxy, we finish the workpiece on a lathe, and then carefully grind it and coat it with colorless varnish. Using a manual grinder on the back of the egg, we make a flat base.

Now the decorative souvenir made of egg-shaped burl is completely ready. It can be installed simply on a shelf or make a stand. The main stages of work, see the video on our website.
