During operation (especially if you often have to do car repair), the jack loses its original appearance. In addition, the oil conduits and valves become clogged over time. Therefore, you need to regularly change the fluid and flush the hydraulic system.

And if you decide to clean the jack, then at the same time you can refresh its appearance - this will extend the life of the device. A quality restoration will require a lot of strength and patience, but the end result is worth it.

The main stages of work

The first step is to completely disassemble the hydraulic rolling jack for its constituent elements. If necessary, use the WD-40 tool to unscrew the "problem" bolts with nuts.

When the jack is completely disassembled, you can begin restoration work (just remember to drain the liquid from the oil tank). First, we assign water procedures to the “patient”, that is, we wash all the details well in a soap solution.

At the next stage, it is necessary to remove the old paint layer - for this, you can use a special solution for quick removal of paintwork. Just apply the product to the surface of the parts with a brush, wait a while and easily remove the paint with a brush.

Painting and assembly

When the painted parts of the hydraulic jack are completely cleaned of factory paint, we proceed to their final restoration. First of all, degrease the surface, primer and paint with any wear-resistant paint.

Connecting elements (for example, “fingers”, rods, etc.) can additionally be freshened using galvanic galvanizing - in this case they will also last longer. Then we collect the jack in the reverse order. See the video for a detailed assembly / disassembly and recovery process.
