Decided to make a do-it-yourself folding knife with a linear lock? A good choice! This is a great tool in the pocket of any man, which is especially useful when hiking, fishing or just relaxing in nature. The design of such a knife contains a minimum of parts, which means it is characterized by maximum reliability.

There are many different methods for making a knife, and each one is good in its own way. In this review, we will consider one of the most affordable options on how to make a folding knife at home. Believe me, it's easy! And the end result will inspire you to new ideas for homemade products.

The main stages of work

The first step is to make a blank for the manufacture of the knife handle. As a basis we take a brass sleeve, inside of which it is necessary to place small wooden "corks" of suitable diameter mixed with epoxy resin.

So that the epoxy does not stand out against the background of brass, it is advisable to add dye to it (for this you can even use dark yellow watercolor paint, crushed into powder).

Then we form a knife blade on an anvil from a steel billet, then we heat it again in the furnace and we temper it in oil. Using a belt grinding machine, you need to remove the bevels on the blade.

In a brass sleeve it is necessary to use a hacksaw for metal or with the help of a drill with a cutting disc to make a longitudinal and an end cut for a blade.

We insert the tail of the knife into the handle, put on the crimp "clip" from a piece of sheet brass and fix it with a swivel pin made of thick copper wire.
